After starting his professional career in academia, Professor Tirovic joined SAB Wabco UK (now Wabtec) in 1991, working on high performance railway brakes. From 1996, he has been back in academia and involved in R & D projects for various brakes and barking systems, from Formula 1, passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles to railway disc brakes. He has published widely on the subject at run professional development courses for industry. He is currently Associate Professor in Automotive Engineering at Cranfield University, UK.

Dr. Tirovic holds an MSc & PhD from Belgrade University, Belgrade, Serbia.
